About Milestone Growth Fund
Founded in 1990, Milestone Growth Fund began with a modest $1.3 million to invest in small businesses owned by entrepreneurs of color. Now, over 20 years later, Milestone continues to be Minnesota’s only community-based investment fund that is focused on providing long-term financing to diverse businesses. Milestone has always focused on helping entrepreneurs of color whose companies are perceived as too risky to secure bank financing or too small for regular venture capital firms. Through financing and management assistance, we initiate a “ripple effect” in communities of color. When entrepreneurs of color grow their businesses, they hire people, improve local economies, increase the local tax base, encourage solutions to social problems, and inspire others to pursue the American dream.
