EGE is the investment arm of The Menke Family Office and is also affiliated with The Menke Foundation. The guiding principal of EGE is to provide equity capital to facilitate both private equity and venture investments. We foster growth initiatives for emerging companies as well as management-led buyouts and add-on acquisitions for mature businesses. We invest on both a minority and majority-control basis. We often co-invest with a select group of Family Offices as well as several former Fortune 500 CEOs with whom we have a close relationship. We believe the way in which we invest is as unique as the companies in which we invest. The equity capital we deploy is our own, not that of distant limited partners. Putting our own money to work makes us passionate about the investments we make, the partners with whom we choose to do business, and the strategies we develop together. We believe this creates the strongest possible alignment of interests between business owners and us. Unlike traditional capital funds, we don't have the pressure of a "finite-life" fund structure or to constantly be raising ever-larger pools of capital – both of which can motivate these types of investors to push companies too aggressively. We can also be opportunistic in our approach—which allows us to invest on a minority or majority (control) basis. We also have no set structure for how our capital is invested or in what form the investment should take. Rather, we pride ourselves on being flexible in approach with an over-riding objective of aligning interests with managers and owners to build substantial long-term value for all shareholders. We have an open mind about almost any industry. Ultimately, we put our own capital to work in businesses to show how much we believe in what we can do and our commitment to generating results in partnership with management.
