About Gravis Group

Founded as SBMI, Gravis Group underwent a significant rebranding in 2021 to better reflect its expanded focus and capabilities. The company's roots trace back to 2003 when, under the leadership of Blum at Capstar, it identified and creatively addressed a student housing shortage at SDSU by converting homes into multi-bedroom student housing. This initiative quickly evolved into SoCal Property Management Group, becoming a major player in college housing redevelopment. In 2009, amidst a foreclosure crisis, Blum capitalized on the opportunity by creating a flip fund, further solidifying the company's innovative approach to real estate development and investment.
